Ink & Ingredients: A Love Letter To Food & Romance

Summer is for adventures. And this month, we're asking: what if yours has been here all along?

Ink & Ingredients returns on Monday, June 29th from 7–9 PM at The Durham Hotel for an evening built around Curvy Girl Summer,  a story about a woman who spends a whole summer searching for something extraordinary, only to find it was right in front of her. Sound familiar?

Your ticket includes a drink from the Durham Hotel bar on arrival, and then we get to work, mixing mocktails together the way the book's bartender does it: with care, with flair, and with the understanding that what you put in is exactly what you get out.

We'll reflect on the book's big questions, learn a few real techniques, and spend the evening in good company doing exactly what we deserve to be doing.

What to expect:

  • A welcome drink from the bar included with your ticket

  • Hands-on mocktail lesson inspired by the book

  • Guided reflection prompts connected to the story

  • Community, conversation, and something good to sip

Read the book before you come, and if you don't have a copy yet, grab one from your favorite local bookshop. We recommend Daughters Coffee & Books - you get a discount when you mention the book club.

This is a space for Black women's stories, food, and self-discovery. Everyone who walks through that door belongs there.
